The product is really good, Im glad I bought it.

I bought it on the D700 as a reporter for every day. and regretted . I found nikon 28-105 in the "bins", which is better in all respects! and now this 24-85 is lying around without work .

on an open aperture, a slightly soft image is obtained, but very often this is rather an advantage :)
