Not quite what I wanted, but mostly okay.

An ultrasonic humidifier is a new purchase for me. It's possible that the flaw lies not with any one company or any one model, but with the technology as a whole. For what it's worth, I dumped the humidifier onto eBay's bargain basement.
If the cost is too high, an air washer is an option to think about. It doesn't make you feel awful, but it does have its own issues, such the need to clean the drum and its removable components on a regular basis.

Pros

1. Raise the humidity level (fast enough at maximum mode) 2. It's so quiet that you won't even notice it at night. 3. It has a sleek design. 4. Injection tank of sufficient size to last multiple days at low and medium settings

Cons

Once the humidifier has been running for a few days, it leaves behind an unpleasant odor in the flat. But, the fine mist itself produces an unpleasant impression, unlike the scent of poor plastic or any other recognizable odor. When you enter the room, your first thought is that something is wrong and you don't want to be here. My throat started to tickle after a time.
