When this life jacket arrived we were very excited. He seemed strong and very sweet. My dog is a 75lb Pitbull and size XL fits him perfectly. However, this is where the positive aspects of the product ended. We went to the lake this morning and used it for the first time. It didn't seem like a big deal to help keep him afloat, but he's tall and has a pretty solid build, which might be why. What is very annoying is that the handle has come loose at the back. We keep our dog on a long leash when swimming for safety reasons and his leash was attached to the life jacket D-ring. When trying to pull it out of the water we had to tighten it a bit and immediately the leash attachment grip came loose! Luckily we have already landed him, but if he were further in the water the situation could become very dangerous. This life jacket may work well for small dogs, but I would never recommend it for larger dogs.
