Traces of rust on the part

When it rained for the first time after installation a few months ago, the rotors showed traces of rust. I swear I saw somewhere in the description that it has rust protection... I think I'm wrong or it's just false advertising. Yes, it looked great after installation and squeaked a bit, but it went away after a few miles.
