Inventory speed is now light years ahead!

We have a small business running many IP telephony products and I needed something to speed up the setup of these systems and all of their endpoints. The server supports configuration by MAC address, but entering each MAC address from the keyboard became cumbersome. I started looking for USB barcode scanners to improve the process, but all reviews under $100 seemed bad (slow scanning, required multiple attempts, character swapping, etc.). Then I came across this Motorola Symbol Scanner. Previous reviews loved this product so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! This thing eats barcodes for breakfast. It's so fast that I'm starting to think of other things I could use for scanning - it scanned USPS barcode tracking numbers from the label (heavily covered with crumpled cellophane tape), UPC codes, ISBN, MAC, . So far, only 3D or QR codes are not scanned. I went through a stack of 15 phone endpoints in less than 1 minute! Completely accurate data read. Perfectly quick recording. I didn't even have to think about aiming, focusing, or anything else. Just point it in the general direction of the barcode and it works - every time, any type of barcode. For Mac users, I connected this to the Mac with no issues (or even no setup - just cancel/close the 'New Keyboard Detected' popup). The user guide includes a sheet of special barcodes that allow you to configure the reader to send Enter/Return or Tab or nothing after each barcode read. Therefore, it should be compatible with your software. . I couldn't be more impressed with this device and it's worth the extra money because words cannot describe how perfectly and quickly this thing inserts barcode data into your applications. When it's on the included desktop stand, it's projecting a laser at all times, so whatever you place underneath it is automatically read. When you take it off the stand, it goes into "Press to Scan" mode. The cable is quite long, but any USB extension cable will do if you need something longer. As our business continues to grow, I will buy more of these immediately!
