The hammock fits five of us. 2 adults and 3 children. You may never reach the weight limit; the awkwardness of sitting many people would prevent this. We contacted the company because we needed one made out of nylon. However, it looks like there are different distributors or something and we couldn't get the nylon version after placing the order as we were told. The cotton version will break after 2 years of use. We wrapped it up for the winter and left it inside and left the hammock outside in the shade. Cotton doesn't last. It snapped and you have to keep tying the ropes. I will reorder but need to make sure it's nylon.
