They don't stay on the headphones.
Each has a small slit on the inside. I assume this is to make it easier to put on the headphones. But the cut also makes it easier for them to detach from the earbuds when you take them out of your ears. Basically, they hang around the earbuds a bit, which allows them to stay in your ears when the earbuds are removed. I regret that I bought them and not the ones without a cut.
