Our little pal has a wound on his paw that is healing and our vet sent him home with one of the dog head cones and it just didn't work for him. Keep his paw covered for 3 weeks so he doesn't lick the spot and let it heal. I can't say he likes it or is comfortable with it, but he got used to it almost immediately. It took about 5-10 minutes for him to start walking around, playing as usual, going up and down stairs and jumping over things as usual. However, if you had a dog that wanted to bite and chew on it, I think it would be possible fairly quickly. Since our biggest problem was that he just wouldn't lick it off, it worked great and it's so much better than the poor guy stuck in that cone. These work perfectly and your dog will probably be very happy with them.
