Just give up and buy real materials.

A friend asked me to print a portrait of her dog. Of course I can. But I didn't feel like digging up all my Speedball stash. I didn't really know where to keep them and it was just a print, this set seemed like a good idea to me. Even though I screwed up a few times There were extra blocks to carve, right? Got it wrong on the first try. I immediately realized that the carving tools were dull and clumsy. So I bought a set of speedball linoleum knives for $12. When you're done cutting out the print, start inking the block. And this mandrel applies ink in the middle of the surface and removes it on the sides! stripes are everywhere. I keep trying. Draw back and forth. Nothing helps. Finally, I'm approaching the deadline for this birthday present and need a glass vase to color the block. Carving tools are terrible. Briar is terrible. terrible.
