Everything is fine at the moment, updated good for lighting and lighting accessories

I just installed it yesterday and had a test drive in the evening. The purpose of the lamp seems to be very close to the original halogen lamp. The headlamp assembly has an inner shroud that helps confine the beam below eye level for oncoming drivers. I suspect the two-sided design of these lamps will contain the beam more effectively than other manufacturers' three-sided versions. I hope they are not too reflective when driving in fog. These headlights were installed on a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup. Replacing the headlight, turn signal or side marker lights on this unit requires complete removal of the headlight assembly; The job is not for the faint of heart. Since I only wanted to do this once, I replaced all the bulbs with LEDs, including the Beamtech 9005 high beam. I can't decide if the light color helps to see the road better or if it's the increased brightness. Maybe a bit of both. Updated Review: After driving on a dark, wet road, I found these headlights to be a lot worse than the halogen bulbs they replaced. But I did notice that the orientation of the LED array was at a 90 degree angle to the headlight reflectors. I decided to experiment before going back to halogen bulbs. There is a tiny set screw in the mounting ring of the LED "bulb". I removed the screw that allows the ring to be removed from the pillar. I drilled a small hole at 90 degrees to the original and then replaced the ring and screw. I did the same with the 9005 in the high beam socket. In a subjective comparison from two sites, one with the lamps rotated to align them with the reflectors and the other by BeamTech, properly aimed lamps threw light much further down the road with less off-axis glare. The original off-center lamp looked much brighter for oncoming traffic, but provided very little light where it was needed on the road. A few more truly dark roads will allow me to determine if my efforts have been fully successful. For BeamTech: Add an extra hole to the mounting sleeve to allow all your lights to be rotated at least 90 degrees. Incorrectly installed headlight bulbs dazzle oncoming drivers and are useless for illuminating the road. After a night drive on a dark road, retuned bulbs make a big difference in road lighting.

Cons
