I was skeptical that these LED lights would be bright enough for night driving, which I have been doing for 24 years. My big truck's hood sends the headlights to the ground when open and I installed them at night. I compared the LED to a regular halogen side by side and saw a HUGE color difference. I tried another brand before that costs more but the result was wrong (see my other review) so I'm sending it back. I chose a different brand and ordered this one. I tested one and the result worked on a 2017 Subaru Impreza. The light output was almost perfect, like a halogen only stronger. There is a limit line, so don't scare other drivers. These excellent LED lamps offer a very clean and even light beam. They work as a DLR in my Silverado with no problems. The only problem I had with installing it was that the passenger side dust cover wouldn't snap into place because the radiator is too big, but after playing around for a while I finally got it in place. I just installed it yesterday and had a test drive in the evening. The purpose of the lamp seems to be very close to the original halogen lamp. The headlamp assembly has an inner shroud that helps confine the beam below eye level for oncoming drivers. I bought both 9003 and 9006 for my 2005 Toyota Tundra. These are great lamps but there are a few things that I haven't found in other reviews. First High/Low 9003. No one really explained this so I'll explain. The lamps are removed from the mounting plates. You install the plates in your headlights, then place the dust caps on the bulb, then they are pushed in and twisted to snap into the retaining plate adapters that you previously placed in the housing.
