I bought this product because I wanted more than what the MacBook Pro gave me. I have 4 USB-C ports, but I keep making more. I edit videos: it can read micro SD and SD cards. I can download videos from a drone or an Osmo pocket (micro). Download from my mirrorless and DSLR cameras (SD card). I can charge items using either USB-C or USB. I connect external drives, phones to my MBPro. Haven't used HDMI yet, but everything else; I can connect and get started. I'm a little afraid because only USB-C is connected to the computer, but the computer works stably in one place and the connection is reliable. But knowing that it's just two small pieces of metal holding it to the laptop is a little confusing. This is a great device that I use almost every day.
