This is a well made metal bracket that fits on the rails of a bike saddle. It's strong and stable, secured with built-in clamp and screws. You can adjust the tension so that the rails are not damaged. I wasn't happy with the rubber band mounts that Garmin supplied. The straps can snap and the mount rotates with the Varia mount. Not so with this seat post. I also recommend purchasing a 45mm GoTough metal extension (link below) to allow the Varia to extend past the edge of the seat so you still have a bag under the saddle. Incidentally, you also need a 14mm 5.8-1 metric screw for the extension, which you can buy at any hardware store.
