This great laptop stand features durable aluminum alloy construction. It is designed to be used in a sitting or standing position. The adjustable parts get where you need them with some effort, but that's a good thing because the stand stays at the height and angle it's set to. It also has rubber strips where the laptop sits on the stand. The metal extensions, also covered in rubber, are bent at the bottom to hold them in place. All of this prevents your laptop from slipping or falling. This stand is heavy and not easily knocked over. On the other hand, the weight reduces portability significantly. So if you're looking for something to stuff in a backpack, this might not be the best choice unless you don't mind lugging around an extra 10 pounds. My laptop is a 15 inch Dell and it's quite heavy and the stand holds it up with no problems. I use it as a standing desk on a tabletop with a mouse, but I use a keyboard on a laptop. It comes with a small Allen key to allow the stand to be tightened if necessary. The instructions are on the back of the box, but I didn't even see them until I set it up, so it's not necessary.
