I don't know exactly whether this adapter was the cause of my problem, I can't explain what it could be, maybe it was a data carrier signature for a Update Windows Disk Management. But this device is suspicious simply because it has so few other explanations, which is why I'm writing this review in case others are having a similar problem. The computer worked fine. I have a drive connected to it that works great with the Weme SATA to USB adapter I have. Windows kept the disk offline (the disk was the original the boot/windows volume was cloned from) so I told disk management to bring it online which would change the disk signature. It seemed to be working fine. But a minute later my computer gets a BSOD with "critical_process_died". I reboot and my boot/windows disk is completely unreadable. How can this device damage the primary drive (not the drive it was connected to)? I have no idea.
