Bought to screw into my winter boots which were "slippery" on hard asphalt and ice. They come in easily and I haven't had any problems since installing them. They add a hell of a slice to every step. I've slipped a few times but 98% of the time they are the perfect solution for traction in winter boots. I found they fit best around the circumference of the boot. Not under the heel or the ball of the foot. Especially until you realize that the material of the sole is sufficient to prevent the rather long screws from protruding. good ice cream
