I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this product and I want to clarify! The reason sooo many people get burn marks is because they abused the wax strips! Definitely wear gloves! Or, if you don't have gloves, wash your hands thoroughly (you don't want bacteria getting into your open pores and causing bumps)2. Make sure the wax is warm (I've found holding the wax over a glass of hot water works well for me)3. POWDER FOR BABY! Thus, the wax does not stick to the skin, but only to the hair4. Make sure your surface is clean. I use rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad to clean the surface. There are bacteria on your face, if you don't clean the surface, the bacteria will get onto your skin and cause bumps! Apply the strip of wax to the area where you want to remove hair and quickly pull in the opposite direction of hair growth. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PULLING THE STRIP, PRESS THIS AREA FOR 3 SECONDS to prevent irritation6. Any hair left? Do not use a new wax strip, fold the used wax strip in half along the sticky side and use the back of the strip to make small quick wax movements in the scrub potion with a NON-PULLING MOVEMENT. The hair is already covered with wax so it can be glued to the back of the wax strip. DON'T GROW! This causes burns because your skin is now sensitive. If there is still a lot of hair left, start with the first step! Do not apply a new strip of wax as it will stick to the skin and cause burns. IF THERE ARE REMAINING HAIRS, you must pluck these hairs so as not to damage the skin.8. After your area is free of hair and wax (again, rubbing or buffing oil on a cotton pad is your final solution to remove the wax), apply some Finipil! It can also be purchased from Amazon, but purchasing from Walmart or your local spa is highly recommended. Finipil is a post-wax cream that prevents ingrown and uneven skin and fights bacteria getting into your open pores.
