I am impressed with this iron! It has enough weight to remove wrinkles but not too heavy for long-term use. The sole is smooth and glides over fabric. Before buying this iron, I was concerned that the temperature switch is under the handle. This iron replaces another iron that also had a temperature switch under the handle. My fingers would squeeze and change the temperature dial almost every time I picked up the iron. Having used this Pur Stream iron several times, I'm very glad I never pressed the temperature button! I don't usually spend a lot of time reading manuals. I was glad I took the time to read the Pur Stream manual as I found the 'tips for good ironing' section worth reading. It describes how different fabrics are ironed (mixed fabrics, silk, velvet, wool). The iron is incredible value for money. I've spent more money on a brand name iron that doesn't work half as well as this one. Highly recommended.
