I bought a pair of Gel Excite 2's in early 2015 and they have served me very well for all the 5k and 10k I've worn over the past 2 years and generally go. They were starting to wear out so I needed a second pair of running shoes. Look, the same shoe line was at 4 now; ie I am guessing there were 3. As a wide footed person I don't have many shoe options to start with anyway. I loved Excite 2 so you can bet I was looking forward to Excite 4 as much (pun intended). I really like the design and the feel. It's so incredibly light that sometimes I feel like I'm not wearing shoes. It's comfortable now, but given that I have wide feet, it's a bit tight. I've had these shoes for almost a month now and have easily over 50,000 invested in them so I'd like to think they've been 'hacked'. As mentioned, the Excite 4 is smaller than expected, so you'll most likely need to go half a size up. For me I used 9.5w for the Excite 2 and 10w for the Excite 4. The length is ok since I went up, but it would still be better if it was a bit wider. But I still recommend these shoes.
