These work for us due to the modifications made before using them. 1) Trim off the extra length, if using for child 2) Use a lighter to "seal” the ends before reattaching back in the black piece that they clip into (even if not trimming, I would still do this to seal it). 3) Hand wash themPeople complain about fraying and the lighter trick has solved that issue. I don’t put them in the washer/dryer. My kid doesn’t mess with the lanyard, so it works for us. If your child is prone to chewing, pulling, etc then I wouldn’t recommend. If they will leave it alone and just wear it, then it will work well. They’re lightweight and effective for their purpose. He also likes the look of the tye dye ones.
