This sharpener has a feature that will stop when the pencil is being sharpened which is great. No more over-sharpening. The only complaint I have is probably the tears from crayons, which sometimes lose their "lead". Most of them are fine, but there are a few in a 36 pack that don't seem to go well with the outside wood and often have a small section that falls out, requiring another pass through the sharpener. However, this sharpener quickly sharpens a few pencils in a hurry. It holds a large amount of pencil shavings and is easy to clean. I turn off the base station and take it to the trash can to throw away. Just be careful not to drop the little lid in the trash can. Oops!
