Now our family travels with it and we wonder why we didn't do it years ago! We throw everything upstairs and it's just a kid + a dog + essentials in the car, which makes the ride that much more enjoyable. We've done two 600-mile tours so far. The bag is definitely waterproof as we rode through torrential downpours with 80kph crosswinds and everything stayed dry. However, make sure that the velcro completely covers the zippers, otherwise there may be leakage.
