Update: I'm changing my rating from 5 stars to one. It tore very easily. I had more than two old covers. The smell was gone but after a few weeks I saw this big crack. The whole seam unraveled. I've had others get torn or ruined by driftwood etc but this is the first time. I will try to fix it and use it under another cover. He seemed strong so I'm disappointed. This is a good heavy case. It stinks a little, but I think it will pass. Fits perfectly in my medium sized SUV. I use it as a hammock so it won't fall over if it's standing when I stop. And since it's not tiny, I put two of these on to give the buckles more grip. I only buy ones that have a mesh window in the middle so my dog can use the air conditioning in the back seat. It looks like it will hold up well. I did not use additional straps such as a seat belt.
