Review on Jackson Safety Leather Specialty Red Brown by Jonathan Yang

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Low headdress.

I would like to preface this review by stating that I have always been satisfied with Jackson Safety's products, especially theirs welding helmets and their face shields. I first needed one of these for the overhead stick welding and confined space welding that I had on my schedule so I settled on this one. To be honest I only bought this one because I thought it was cool and in fact I could tell this helmet apart from a regular Tillman helmet if I left it next to other leather welding helmets someone owns. Unfortunately, the headgear on this helmet is absolute junk. The standard pull-on button on the back is hampered by an "over-tightening" safety feature that Jackson came up with, which is the absolute worst idea as it can never fit snugly on my head. The plastic headband is also uncomfortable, and the culmination of those two flaws rendered the helmet virtually unusable. replace it with one that actually works. Most welders I've spoken to in the past said Tillmans are great. So if you're looking for a fast and well-functioning one, I'd look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Material: Welding helmet covered with durable, heat-resistant, flexible leather offers all-round protection when working in close proximity with other welders; Features a liftable front for ease of use and a 2" x 4.25" skid plate
Cons
  • Crumpled
