They plugged directly into my existing lights under my cabinets and worked great. I tried another brand and these LEDs come on then go off after a few seconds. They worked straight away with my existing transformer. We never wanted to turn on our under cabinet lights in the kitchen because they got too hot all the time. There is almost no warmth with them. If so, it's VERY minimal. You have to hold your hand directly in the light for a long time to even feel the temperature change. Even then it is a slight warmth. Lamps are also the ideal level of light. They harmonize well with the rest of the lighting in the kitchen. They illuminate the work surfaces under the cupboards with a pleasantly bright light without drowning out the ceiling lights in the kitchen. They turn on instantly and don't flicker. Would definitely buy again.
