Review on πŸ”Œ Superior Quality A-Premium Power Window Regulator with Motor - Front Passenger Side for Ford Ranger 1993-2011 by Nicholas Reggae

MUST USE RIVETS!

I installed this on my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L. It runs smoothly and powerfully at a great price. The regulator has 4 attachment points, you don't need to remove the metal window rail or remove the rivets that hold the glass. Simply pull the old controller out of the rail and there is enough space to pull it out of the hole with the rail still screwed on. Be sure to clean and then oil the chains while you're there. The tricky part is lining up the holes on the new adjuster. You may need to adjust the angle with the window up/down buttons before it matches the height of the glass. I know it's tempting to use nuts and bolts to install a new regulator, but USE RIVETS! The whole reason my old regulator failed was because the last person to do the job was using nuts and bolts. When I opened the door panel to see why my window was half stuck, I saw that the regulator was held in place by a thread on a screw. Three of the four bolts came loose on their own and were nowhere to be seen except for the remnants of some washers stuck in the door. The Ford Ranger comes from the factory with a riveted adjuster because the rivets won't come loose! Get the job done the first time and save yourself the hassle of going there again. I used the $6 rivet set found here: =1 (only 4 of the 10 short rivets are needed). rivet gun deal that can work with 1/4 rivets)

Pros
  • Directy Fit
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine
