Manufacturing flaw prevented complete assembly, compromising overall sturdiness

The desk is a good size for small spaces and work from home set ups. However, when I was assembling the desk, one of the screw openings did not match the width of the supporting bars of the desk. I'm a busy professional and I didn't have the time to assemble this desk immediately after I received it, so I was way past my return period to return this desk. Also, I thought I could use some of my own craftsman knowledge to use tape to cover for the desk's overall structural rigidity. After about half a year after assembly, the desk grew more unstable, and I noticed that other screws were becoming looser. Upon tightening them, some screw holes were caving in. I am starting to suspect that the lone defective joint had started to put more pressure on the other desk joints. I am unsure how stable the desk actually be if there were no manufacturing defects.Sturdiness aside, the wood is painted well, and it is light enough to move/position it around the room. One issue that I frequently had to deal with is the lack of space for a sliding desk drawer. The desk is too tall for an ergonomic position of a keyboard, and I prefer ample room for a sliding desk drawer, at least on one side of the desk. Conclusion: It's a decent desk for small space, but be aware of manufacturing defects. In my case, it barely lasted me half a year.
