Budget Stereo System: Auto & Vehicle Electronics

Bought this stereo system to replace my wife's 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5S factory unit. It sounded good, better than my 2008 Honda Accord V6 EXL "Subwoofer" stereo. In addition, I have an aftermarket, powerful and noisy, but with many autotypical problems. Anyway, Nissan Stereo started having blank screen, partial text screen, changing channels etc. So I got this because of the price. The first double din, I wanted wives to be comfortable seeing him behind the wheel. I used factory speakers, Scosche cable adapters (and also antenna) and a Metra dashboard adapter. It wasn't great, but it wasn't as bad as some reviews say (I had to use a blade, a file, and some glue). The stereo is good, a bit vulgar for me, but my wife likes it. My only problem is the antenna. Nissan (not sure on the new ones) uses a powered rear window antenna to amplify it in the rear passenger pillar. I didn't plug it in, just plugged the RCA connector into the back of the unit. The radio had one channel. I had to open it up again (the sheathing around the vents ripped) and connect the blue/white striped cable to the blue antenna adapter. The blue adapter from stereo to blue antenna does not work. The wire is labeled P conn/ant P or something like that. The other is blue with a yellow stripe and says "remote". In short, a blue antenna on a blue stripe with a white stripe is a combination. Check the stereo first before putting everything back lol. That was my only catch. Bluetooth mic sounds good for calls. It has an external one that you insert into the driver's side A-pillar. The AUX jack is behind the stereo, so run it to the left, behind the steering wheel and other junk, remove the small panel on the side of the dash and run the cable and then up the pillar. I put it in, didn't take it off, but my "inside the dash" dust on it (sorry baby). Wash your hands or put on gloves and poke them with a clean flat head, putty knife, etc. Sounds good with factory speakers, the bass on it isn't bad for factory speakers, but don't blow them. Now we need to figure out how to change the color of the head unit. So many tweaks but I don't know how to glue them. Haven't tried CD but have used Pandora and it's been good. Calls are good too. There could have been more descriptive information, but that would have to be fiddled with. Again probably the best of these but for a good stereo replacement on older cars. You can't go wrong with this!
