Review on πŸ–₯️ Dell UltraSharp U2412: 24 Inch LED Lit Monitor with Stunning 1920X1200 Resolution, 60Hz Refresh Rate by Jake Stjames

I took the plunge and came out happy

Coming to the point (value versus product and purpose): I upgraded a 2007 Dell 20 inch 16:10 (1680 x 1050) LCD monitor that had no real problems with it, but I wanted more real estate and a higher resolution image . I wanted the colors and was willing to pay for them because I do layouts and basic photo editing from time to time, but I ultimately settled on these over the 2413 and am glad I got the extra $200. , it's a great buy and $50 cheaper than direct from Dell. I did a little research on the back of the car and it seems like I paid about $500 7 years ago when I got my old 20 inch display, so it's a really good deal, $300 Paying for a bigger, higher resolution and brighter screen. especially since 2007 the dollars are over 50% more expensive than our bloated monopoly money today. (Extra lesson, kids: while we're printing money, don't worry about hoarding it in your mattress!) My job is architecture, so extra space for CAD or REVIT drawings is important, and 24 inches feels great to me definitely big. Most of the companies I've worked for offer 20 inch screens. I used big 30's in Apple screens when they had cumbersome plastic bezels. To be honest, I think 24 inches is a good compromise between the size and the work of the neck muscles when locating toolbars at the edges of the screen. I also play games like Fallout3 and Bioshock Infinite, the Civ franchise and SupCom, so I was worried about everything. this latency talk (more on that later) The first thing my wife noticed when I plugged in the monitor was that the colors on the desktop background were more vibrant than on the old monitor: three people had noticeably different lip and skin tones, which not nearly as clear as before. That's telling, because as I thought about myself in the monitor reviews, I began to think the 2412M was going to be a "compromise." Ghosting issues, blue traces, input lag, "game modes" and other things that seem REALLY annoying or difficult. - I'm constantly switching between gaming, work, web surfing or video and I don't want to figure out the menu every time. I can't compare this model to any other model as I only bought one of them! So here's a list of things I found out about THIS monitor: Q: Anti-glare? O: Looks great. It's supposedly an improvement over the 2410 and not as good as the 2413. Well it's certainly an improvement over the 2007 I had and way better than anything I got at work. To me, it feels smooth and crisp, although it doesn't have the "almost shiny" look that the 2413 claims to have. This screen seems perfect and I wish it wasn't more shiny. B: Input Delay or Total Delay or Transmission Delay. something like that? A: All sorts of concerns about 6ms, 8ms, 1ms and 2ms made me angry for NO REASON. Finally, one of the reviews I read linked me to a reflex response site and I've found that while click-to-click can be pretty quick at times, overall my fastest clicks are easily around 10-20 ms may vary. So worrying about a 2ms or 6ms difference on paper between this monitor and any other monitor, even a "fast gaming" TN monitor, seems really silly, at least for the non-professional gamer who isn't a dozen moves. an energy drink that doesn't nitrogen-cool its CPU to squeeze out another dozen frames per second in its first-person shooter. There aren't any noticeable response time issues here, so I guess I've heard that many gamers are opting for this monitor. In color? A: The colors look great. It should cover most of the sRGB color space. I can tell you that it is much livelier than what I am used to. messing around with color calibration is another thing that most people just don't need to worry about. I plug and play and had no problems. There are no weird color shifts here. White appears white, red appears red. Snosberry tastes like Snosberry. Maybe 2413 would make all my graphics dreams come true, but I wouldn't really take full advantage of it, and if your profession wasn't color-related, you probably wouldn't be either. Read the Fuzzy Wuzzy review to learn more about getting the most out of your monitor. You need end-to-end image processing optimized for this level of quality. I don't see any light edge bleeding or anything, but when the screen is "black" it's not as "black" as I would like. This is my first IPS monitor and it does seem to glow a little but I don't notice it regularly. I don't notice it at all when gaming, surfing the web or watching videos. The pixels are fine, although I've checked for "dead" pixels and haven't found anything. Q: Overall build quality/customer service? with curved plastic cover. The monitor has become surprisingly light, despite being larger than my old one. Seems to be strong. Don't knock or anything like that to keep it from wobbling. Actions to move or rotate the monitor are very smooth and efficient. Aesthetically, I like its clean lines. It's worth it, no regrets. Hooray!
