Bought these for my little grandson's 3rd birthday and he thought they were so funny! They have a lot more features than I expected but they can be easy to use for the little ones who might not understand how to use them all. My little friend loved the flashlight function and the ability to talk to "Dad" in the other room. The range is impressive, but I haven't really tested how far apart you can get before losing signal. It definitely works fine. This is a toy that works like a real one and a small child can use it and grow up over quite a long time. Parents have fun with them too! They're made for little hands, which makes them a lot easier to handle for little ones, and I think the colors are bright and fun. They each require 3 AA batteries, so make sure you have them on hand when you're ready to open and use them. I was not disappointed in them at all!
