This camera cover cracked the screen on my new 16" Macbook Pro tonight. I'm so angry. Apparently Apple has been warning about this since July 2020 but I must have missed it. I have these Used case on my 15" Macbook Pro with no problems, but newer 16" models are much more vulnerable. I've had this cap for about 3 weeks and tonight I closed the cap very gently while it was lying on my desk. I didn't pick it up, carried it next to the camera, and didn't press directly on that part of the case. But when I opened it up again, my screen was black. I thought it was just a minor issue, and then I saw a hairline, which ran right down the middle of the screen and came straight off the camera cover. Did a google search and apparently this is new to a LOT of other people 16-inch MacBooks because the gap is narrower than previous models. Please do NOT use this or any other low profile camera cover on your new Macbooks. The only safe way to close them is with tape, tape, oversight, or something else as thin as a piece of paper. There should be a WARNING in the seller's description - they should stop promoting Mac. It's incredibly expensive to repair at $1,000, so not having Apple Care is a tough lesson.
