I bought several HM-10 bluetooth boards for different projects and half of them turned out to be "fake". (The fakes have unknown firmware that doesn't implement the instruction set of the real HM-10 board.) These boards are real. A quick check with a terminal program for sending AT commands shows that this is an official firmware download. AT+VERS? The team has returned the v550 firmware release and checking several AT commands that should be supported in this release shows that they all work as expected. The only difference between these boards and other "real" HM-10s I have is that the LED on the carrier board is blue on this version and red on others. Some HM-10 boards have 6 pins. and there are only 4 of them (VCC, GND, TXD, RXD). The other two connectors that have no pins connected are EN and STATE. The holes are present in the carrier board so you can add pins to these connections if you need to toggle "ON" or use the "STATUS" connection as an input for something else.
