When I first got this I figured I'd use it at night to myself to torment wash my skin before applying retinol and serum. The first night was great. The second night my skin rebelled and I took it as a good sign and continued on the third night. Bad idea. Bad, bad idea. I was of course the wrong user as the description warns that this is not a toner for women but I put the bottle in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom where it sat waiting for me to dare to try again. Well I finally got it. It's winter now so instead of washing my face all over in the morning I just used witch hazel. My skin is usually either combination or normal, but I've had dryness to the point of flaking and to the point where my skin was so dry it was soaking up my foundation in search of moisture. With that in mind, and without much common sense, I reached for a bottle instead of witch hazel one morning. My logic was that this is prime weather for flaking, so I'd better forestall the flaking and rotting if that doesn't work. There are a lot of good ingredients here besides glycolic acid, and another layer of peptides helps, but exfoliation is key in my opinion. some water and then I wipe my face, neck and back of my hands before continuing with my morning routine. Maybe over time my skin will adjust and I'll skip the spritzing, but it works, so I have no reason to tiptoe over this step.
