I really liked these pencils

Wet and dry I really liked these pencils. They matched perfectly - wet and dry. However, they were so badly broken that the waste wasn't worth the hassle! I was so disappointed in using them! I've had other pencils that I bought from Revain (Colore 72ct crayons) that haven't broken; however, they didn't go together as well as this one did. I use a watercolor brush, wet the tips of the Colore pencils and use them like watercolor cakes. How I wish they wouldn't break - they were superior to what I have now in every way! I didn't want to spend a fortune on other lesser colored pencil sets that the reviews said had the same breakage issues. UPDATE: I'm only updating my review for one reason: Magicfly read my review, replied, and offered a second chance to use their pens. Again, I found the color, brightness, choice of colors to transition through the hues, and everything else about these pens to be amazing - even better than the reviews I've read about "more professional" watercolor pencils. HOWEVER, the second set of pencils I received was inferior to the first when it came to broken leads in the core of the pencil. No matter how I sharpened them, how careful I was, how little pressure I used (even watching YouTube videos on how to sharpen watercolor pencils), every pencil I sharpened went full-length on the first sharpening to stubs that were difficult to hold . It was so bad that I had to stop sharpening it because then there would be nothing to sharpen, and yet I couldn't get to the part of the pencil where the lead didn't break and splinter. I am very disappointed that the pencil leads are so horribly damaged. Because this manufacturer doesn't sell individual colors, only sets, each pen I used seemed like a one-time use. When they had to be sharpened, the pencil was useless. I saved the broken tips to use as watercolor paints with a brush. Losing the pencil was a terrible waste as I prefer to paint with watercolor pencils and only use water activation for special effects.

Pros
  • A great Christmas present
Cons
  • Piggy bank prize

Good but not AMAZING for the price. A smart investment, though.
