This is such a great concept and Chic did a great job of bringing it to life with these round bamboo plates. Slightly different from rectangular palm leaf plates, but still excellently made from renewable raw materials. If you use disposable plates, use something like this. They are attractive and stronger than paper plates and not as dangerous as Styrofoam plates. They conduct more heat than other disposable plates, so be careful with them. I put some hot pancakes on top straight off the grill and you can definitely feel the heat through the plate.
