An excellent product that has become a cornerstone of the care of an elderly parent recovering from a fall that resulted in a broken arm. We hear it well and respond quickly, and all family members can quickly become familiar with it. About 8 different alarm tones/sounds and 3 different volume settings. Each call button is fitted with its own button cell battery and the main unit uses 3 AAA batteries. It's small enough to fit in a front pocket when you need to be away from the patient. Also, it covers a great distance, I've tested it on the furthest distances of the property. Also, the alarm will keep ringing until you press the volume button to end the call. This is very handy when it's taking you a while to get to the person or when you're nodding off on night duty and need an alarm clock to wake you up. The panic button block also appears to be waterproof, but I haven't (and hope not) tested that. The main unit is made of plastic and cannot be dropped. It can be hung on the wall, but it's probably best to place it on a flat, stable surface. There is also a hole through which you can attach it with a belt or other material to secure it so it doesn't fall off. This is an important element when caring for someone who cannot call you or who may be out of sight and in need of assistance. If we had had this system before my mother fell, we would have found it within minutes of her death. Drop and no more than 2 hours later! Get this item and consider getting one of these medical emergency buttons that will call firefighters/paramedics/ambulance and will be constantly monitored.
