NEX-3 was the preceding model of the A6000 (I bought the system to try, and in general mirrorless cameras). The purchase is one I have never once come to regret. Everyone is able to use the camera. Picture quality, functionality, compactness, control, and an electronic viewfinder are all important factors to consider. You won't find anything finer at this price anywhere else. The purchase of a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) is illogical because it is bulkier, heavier, more difficult to transport, and less pleasant to wear on a daily basis than this camera, which can be carried in your pocket. The electronic viewfinder offers a great deal more in the way of ease of use and useful information than its optical counterpart (shooting parameters and histogram, choice of focus points). Some who claim that it is sluggish and has a low level of detail have not used an electronic viewfinder on a current camera (or are just traditionalists who dislike technological advancements).
Even if it can't compete with a fancy and costly DSLR in terms of image quality, it will win in terms of portability, allowing you to take it with you more often and resulting in a greater number of intriguing photographs (because the most interesting things almost always occur by surprise).
