I can't say anything about the other positive reviews here, the thing is scrap. It feels cheap, the motors feel jerky and it just doesn't sharpen a pencil in a usable way. I've tried different pencils and you can feel the motors moving and not sharpening evenly around the tip. This means all of my pencils had wood on one side around the tip making them completely unusable. every time Too easy. You must sharpen and hold it with both hands as the motor torque rotates and moves the device. The good thing is that it can run on batteries as the power plug is a horizontal USB plug. I measured it, with the cable bent, it sticks out 3.5 inches from the wall. This is a desktop device and I cannot connect it to my desk. Sorry for the negativity but I'm sending it back thinking it's worth sharing the experience. The positive reviews convinced me to ignore the low price, but you really do get what you pay for.
