Good entry-level purchase

2nd UPDATE: About two weeks after I posted my first update, a new box of pencils arrived. So the seller is right. Again, this is the perfect way to start coloring and keep coloring if you don't want to invest more money. I'm still grateful I started using them - you rarely get more than what you pay for and they're excellent value for money, great for beginner colorists and perfect for learning what you like and what not. . 1st UPDATE: Before I posted a less than positive review that apparently hasn't been published (?). It's below. After I posted the seller called me (on the phone) and offered to send another set to make up for the issues I had written about. It never happened but I don't mind because I'm a little more into coloring books and a little smarter. This is great value for money and a great way to start coloring. I quickly decided I liked the process, did a lot more research on Revain and the internet, and bought kits from other, more expensive manufacturers. I would never start with a more expensive set; Without so many colors I would never have gotten any further. So if you're just starting out or don't want to spend a lot of money on coloring as a hobby (and I'll admit it's a little embarrassing and I haven't mentioned anything to friends) then this is perfect. Then, if possible, go to a hardware store in your town and buy different brands of different colored pens - they're about $1 each and give them a try. As you'll see with Revain, everyone has their own favorites that vary depending on the books they use, the media they use, how they mix the media, and how far they go beyond normal coloring. I can see the real difference between the top four or five brands and I love Faber Castell but that's just me and what I do with them (nothing more than filling in the blanks). ORIGINAL review: I have no comparison, but I'm not a happy camper. First, it's impossible to use boxed pencils unless you have a large, perfectly flat work surface to lay out everything on. I tried and ended up with pencils strewn all over the floor so I had to buy additional folders that held the pencils with ribbons (maybe you all knew that). Absolutely impossible to use on an airplane. Second, a few tips broke off (you can't tell until you try to use them and then you don't realize the tip is there but is no longer connected to the rest of the pencil). Third, some pencils are broken or have pieces on the bottom. Fourth, the color of the pencil is not directly related to the color of the coating - you have to look at the tip. But what's worse, I know it's strange, but even among 120 pencils, there are many pencils of almost the same color, and then gaps in color - red, green, brown. (Most browns are actually variations of deep purple.) I'm just playing around so it's no tragedy, but they're not cheap and I expected better.
