Solid bin - not as easy to use as expected

I've been using this bin for over a month now and overall I like it. This is a great way to separate trash and recyclables into different bins without having multiple bins around the house. I ordered stickers to mark each side as "Trash" or "Recycle" for guests who come. The trash can has solid metal construction and is a bit heavy. Arrived very well packaged and undamaged. It was fully assembled except for the pedals that had to be stepped on to open it. All I needed was a screwdriver and I assembled it in about 5 minutes. It then took me another 5 minutes to figure out why the lids weren't closing completely. When it arrives, you'll need to remove both containers from the bin and remove the styrofoam packaging that sits at the very bottom of the device to protect it during transit. When I did that, everything worked wonderfully. The first thing I noticed was that the garbage bags I was using were getting too big. I have a pack of Costco sized Tall Kitchen trash bags that hold 13 gallons. I think each tank on this one is actually closer to 8 or 9 gallons. A fairly large bag was left over after I stuffed it into an empty jar. I tried sliding it outside the outer basket but inside the main basket. This left quite a bit of pouch in the slot where the lid was supposed to rest. I ended up having to roll the bag tightly on one side and tuck an extra piece of spine in the middle of one of the sides as there are slightly recessed sections on all 4 sides of the internal compartments. I also found that you should place the handles on the inner baskets forward when placing them back in the outer basket. It's not that hard once I figure it out. Since both internal trash cans are smaller than a typical kitchen trash can, you'll need to take the trash out more often than you used to. I used to take it out once a week, now mostly 2 times a week but sometimes still once. I have to take out the garbage 2-3 times a week. That's significantly better than the daily rides I took when I didn't have a separate can, which is why I call it a win. When you empty the bins, the handles on the inner bins become a real problem. You have to grab the handle and keep him away or he'll catch on the insert and try to tip the glass over. As I was writing this review it occurred to me that I should just get rid of those pesky handles on the inner bins! All in all, this is a good recycle bin. It was expensive but they were all! This solves the garbage collection problem and keeps it in order. I would recommend it despite some of the issues I have pointed out. Once you learn how to bypass them, it's good. I think you will have these problems with any double bin of this style. Benefits: Keeps trash and recyclables separate and organized. beautiful appearance. Durable and heavy. Eliminates the need for more than one bin in the home. Fits perfectly at the end of the standard socket depth and height. Kitchen Cabinets Cons: The handles aren't all that useful, and it's probably best to just remove them if you're using an insert. Hold less junk than a standard kitchen jar. To the right
