The motion sensor is still fine, we use rechargeable batteries which work great in it for quite a long time. In the almost 3 years we've had it I can only recall changing the rechargeable batteries 4 times or so. I bought this trash can almost a year ago. After 2 months I noticed the lid would sometimes have issues opening but would always correct after a moment. Now it barely even opens. I have to manually open the lid. What’s the point of a touchless lid if after a few months it doesn’t work. And the odor eliminator barely works. When I make fish and throw away the packaging it comes in. I have to take that trash out that night. If not the next morning my entire apartment will smell.

I am overall pretty happy with this purchase mostly for the ease of its use. I have 2 small children and they love to use it. It helps motivate them to throw away garbage! I don’t think I notice any difference with the odor eliminator. My biggest complaint is how hard it is to get the garbage bag out once it is full! I wish there was something to step on so I could hold the cab down while pulling the bag out.

Our old bin is roughly the same size as this one but is not curved like this one, it's basically square.I was actually very surprised at how much space is lost by that rounded style.
