Review on Bellari HA540: Unleashing Pure Class A Power for Superior Stereo Headphone Amplification by Cindy Foster

This is my first tube amp and I'm really impressed with the sound. I mainly play through my MP3 player with a 1/8" cable connected to DT990Pro 250ohm headphones. I've also tried various cheap bulbs, JJ 12AX7, JJ ECC832, Tungsol Reissue, Tungsol Goldpin, Ruby AC3 Select - they are all better than stock. Tube, but the Mullard 12AX7 reissue sounded the best to my ears. Gives really detailed sound (I could hear the difference between clapping and finger snapping in a disco track, never heard that before!), lots of bass, smooth highs and a huge volume (1/2 is the maximum I can comfortably hear). I'm enjoying the DT990 even more since I bought this amp, they really benefit from a decent amp. The inputs on the back don't bother me, but I removed the cage so I can switch tubes at any time (grab the amp cap and it unscrews easily with an Allen key). You can take it abroad and use it! I'm very happy with the value for money of this setup!
