I wish I had read the reviews first but I assumed that with almost 4000 reviews this was almost a 4 star good tool would be - I AM SO wrong. I haven't had any issues with a broken tool or a bent collet shaft. My problem is that the device has NO TORQUE. If the tool encounters resistance, it shuts off. I have three other Dremel tools. My favorite battery powered tool (4 AA batteries) sold as a pet nail grooming tool. It doesn't get close to the 15,000rpm for shop tools, but it can do most of what other tools do and do it on the go. However, I got tired of changing batteries and had to clean expired AA batteries more than once. This is the tool I was hoping to replace. The device is so weak that I ran two tests. I used a Dremel cutting wheel and tried to cut 3/16" cork wood. I cut the piece in half 8" long. The device was switched off 14 times during the cut. I was so frustrated that I just turned the unit back on and grabbed the rotating cutting wheel (spinning at 80% of maximum speed) with my fingers. I didn't have to worry - I could just stop the cutting wheel without scratching or damaging the skin. I suspect if I ever need to polish the head of a bolt this tool can get the job done, but forget it for something more serious.
