Review on 🎧 Plantronics Voyager Focus UC with Charge Stand - Bluetooth Dual-Ear Headset with Boom Mic - Active Noise Canceling - PC and Mac Compatible - Works with Teams, Zoom & More by Louis Loebis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best bluetooth headset for home or office under $300

This is the best headset I could find for conference calling. I've tried several headsets in the past, including the Sennheiser 506045 MB Pro2 UC, which was very unreliable on OS X.1. Voyager Focus looks great, has good build quality and is very comfortable, I can use it for hours - both for communicating and listening to music. It's relatively light (although not as light as the Sennheiser MB Pro2).2. Outstanding reliability and compatibility. I use it with Skype, WebEx, GoToMeeting and Mumble on OS X El Captain. Works with both Apple's built-in Bluetooth chip and the included Plantronics USB adapter (BT-6000). The latter has a neat feature - it changes color depending on the profile used (blue for speakerphone/headset, purple for music/A2DP). Your Plantronics Hub software works great on OS X and Windows, allowing you to tweak many settings and update firmware. Regular updates make it even better. (Sennheiser does not offer any software for OS X, the updater only works on Windows).3. The boom mic works great, one of Plantronics' best features. Has a small passthrough button if you want to hear what others are saying without taking off your headset - useful in some situations.4. Listening with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) really works and helps remove some of the background noise. While it doesn't come close to the Bose QC-25 (which I use when I travel, especially on airplanes), it's perfectly fine for office and home use. (Honestly there is no ANC in Senn MB Pro 2).5. Battery usage is excellent (so far), but I've never used it without a stand for more than a few hours. Another nice touch is that it has a microUSB port for charging (in addition to the charging dock) which the MB Pro 2 doesn't have. Following my previous experience with Sennheiser when I started with a 5 star rating and downed it to two Had to change stars, This time I used the Focus extensively for a few weeks before writing a review.
