I left this setting because the light source is in a short hallway with a short flight of stairs. The next setting is the day and night mode. The device is in day mode. This means that the light can also be switched on during the day. This is a good mode depending on where you place the device. My device is in an indoor corridor out of direct sunlight, so this setting offers the best security. If you want it to only turn on at night (or when the lighting is very low), use night mode. And as a icing on the cake, this gorgeous, incredible light even has a setting where it can stay in "Dim Mode". The light is on 24/7 at 30% brightness, but when someone approaches, the light jumps to 100%. I see this mode working well in homes for people with disabilities where the hallway lights stay on at 30% all the time but then return to 100% brightness after motion is detected.
