I read all the reviews on this thing before and after I bought it and for the rest of my life I can't understand ANY of the negative reviews. This thing works great; I insert my cards and it IMMEDIATELY reads the files. Then it sends the files to my computer as fast as you want, right there where I tell it to every time. No apps, no downloads, just works. I have an old Win 7 computer that didn't have USB 3 because it didn't exist back then. I installed an internal USB 3 card, plugged an unnamed 7-port USB 3 hub into it for placement on my desk, and plugged this reader into it, as well as another card reader and 2 external USB drives. above couldn't be worse. and it works great. I have no idea what other people are doing with this thing or how anyone can get it wrong, but they are. Worth every penny and highly recommended.
