First off, maybe I missed it, but the batteries are NOT REPLACEABLE. The device is designed to turn on when installed. (turn in the holder) If you turn it off, it's off forever! So don't play with the switch! Just a thin sheet of paper, like plastic, can permanently stop the switch. Be careful not to accidentally hit it and be careful not to touch it when installing. I don't care about the quality of the work, it's an unacceptable design. I have yet to test the device, hopefully it works better than intended. More: I bought it to detect smoke from people burning trash. Last night I smelled smoke, it looks like burning plastic. It's bad enough to do a chokehold. I was hoping this would detect the smoke so I could close the windows before it got bad. That does not work. A sensitive person can die before this works. What's the use if I go to bed and die before he decides to sound the alarm? Adjusting the sensitivity could be a big improvement. Now that I have it I'll see how bad it gets before it works. waste of money.
