Love these. Because of where I installed them, the studs didn't fit exactly where I needed them. The wall studs are 16 inches, but they vary in size around the window. In any case, I placed the racks side by side but left a gap between them. I then placed one of the hooks just above that gap where you couldn't see the gap, but the hook still holds the heavy tool well. It still looks like a long rack. They are very strong and durable, I would buy them again and recommend them.
