If you're looking for a drone that takes great video and photos and/or is easy/safe to fly, this is the best drone you can find for under $300. Point. I've done my research, if you're even thinking of spending anywhere north of $200, buy this. If you want a true beginner drone, any $20-$30 drone will do (don't worry about that film, just learn to fly!). Learn until you fail. If you want a "decent" drone with GPS/return home etc. you can probably get one of these for $100-$150. but the range will be small and the quality of the photo/video is acceptable at best. If you spend more you'll be a fool if you don't get it. You may or may not know it, but DJI is pretty much the Apple of drones. And there's a reason. This thing will hang in place like it's stuck there. Takes great videos and photos, the gimbal is smooth and precise. Responsive management. It will easily outperform any drone at this price point. I also have a Hubsan Zino Pro+ which is a great drone too. A very different drone. At $350, this is the best drone you can get in this price range in terms of features and performance. But that's a different animal. I use it for long-distance missions, strong winds, going out on the water, etc. Sometimes it drifts centimeters if not meters and I have to constantly keep it under control in close combat. But in more open spaces it tears and I like it. The wind hardly touches. It serves a different purpose. The DJI Mini SE doesn't have that range, is lighter and more susceptible to strong winds, and may have slightly less flight time. It doesn't have an active track or other nice software features. Those minor flaws aside, this is a great drone at what is arguably an unprecedented price. I've seen drones in the 200-300 range and wonder why I want to buy these? Do yourself a favor if you are looking for a GOOD QUALITY BUDGET DRONE, this is it! (Or Hubsan Zino Pro+ if you have other requirements).
