Not exactly for colourists

I've wanted to try this for a long time. I took a pack of 12 as it was the cheapest. I have compared them to other brands of oil crayons and of course they are easier to blend and give a more cohesive look. I was surprised at how many colors settled at the slightest touch. I read a lot that they are translucent, but I liked the coating. Nothing like Prismacolor, but I wasn't expecting that either. I've attached a photo of a coloring book I finished using just these 12 colors. I managed to create pleasant cold and warm shades of gray and brown. Two colors that I use often. I buffed most of the side with white and it brightened everything without removing too much color. Tin is tin. I understand that there are some special photos on it, but I really don't care. In general I was satisfied. I won't buy a full set until I get to the level where I can draw photorealistic animals. These pins would be great for hair and fur. But in general I don't recommend them to colorists like me unless you draw a lot of mandalas. They are great for mandalas. Since this is the third set of oil sticks, I can only recommend colorists to work better with Prismacolor.

Cons
  • boring packaging
